SEEDMAPKIT
Help & troubleshooting
Resolve common map questions and collect the details needed to compare a result with your world.
If your world looks different
- Check every seed digit and select the correct dimension.
- Select the same Java version in the game and map, using default generation. Versions absent from the selector, other editions and custom settings are not supported.
- Check whether you are viewing terrain or a biome slice. A slice uses the selected Y height.
- Remember that trees and block styling are illustrations, and structure markers identify predicted start chunks rather than entrances.
- Check whether the area was generated in an older game version.
See How to use the map for controls and coordinate guidance.
Which problem are you seeing?
| Symptom | Check first | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| The whole landscape differs | Seed digits, edition, selected version and generation settings | Compare the same X/Z in newly generated terrain. |
| The right area, but different trees or blocks | Illustrated detail is enabled | Use terrain heights and biome data rather than the decorative trees/materials. |
| A structure is not visible at the surface | Structure type and dimension | Check whether it is underground. A surface height is not its floor height. |
| No structures appear | Selected filters and search center | Enable the type, wait for its locations, or move the search center. |
| The map pauses in a new area | New terrain is still calculating | Allow it to finish, try Balanced detail, or close other busy browser tabs. |
Collect your world details
Prepare a note for your own comparison or to share with another player. Include the seed only if you are comfortable disclosing it. This tool creates text in your browser; it does not send a message.
Saved views missing?
Saved views belong to the browser profile and website address where you saved them. They are not synchronized to another device. Clearing site data, using a different browser or closing a private-browsing session can remove them.
Use Cookies & browser storage to manage saved views. Removing saved entries does not affect the Minecraft world itself.
What a useful comparison includes
Record the seed, exact edition and version, dimension, X/Z coordinates and selected map mode. Include the Y height if you used a biome slice. Note whether the world is fresh, upgraded, modded or uses datapacks.
Separate what the tool predicted from what you saw. “Village marker at these coordinates; no village in a new default Java 1.21.1 world” is more useful than “the map is wrong.” A screenshot should include enough coordinate context to reproduce the view.
The form above only prepares a note. It does not create a ticket, send email or upload a world. Do not include account passwords, server credentials or private player information.
Browser and map controls
For navigation, drag the map or use its arrow buttons. Hold Ctrl while scrolling to zoom. In 3D Overworld view, hold Shift and drag to rotate, or use the camera controls; return to 2D if you prefer an overhead view. If your settings have been edited but not applied, render them before navigating. Cancel stops unfinished calculations without changing the seed you entered.
If the browser cannot copy to the clipboard, select the displayed coordinates and copy them directly. Storage can be unavailable in restrictive or private browser settings; the map can still calculate without saving views.
Read the full controls guide or return to the seed map.
